How the conversion works
The value in dollars is the number of coins times the latest daily closing price from Coinbase. Going the other way, the number of coins is the dollar amount divided by that price. Other currencies multiply by today's exchange rate from ExchangeRate-API.
One bitcoin is 100,000,000 satoshis (sats), the smallest unit Bitcoin records. Exchanges add fees and a spread, so a real purchase gets slightly fewer coins than shown here.

How many satoshis are in one bitcoin?
100 million. One satoshi is 0.00000001 BTC. Many people price small Bitcoin amounts in sats because the numbers are easier to read.
How current is the price?
It is the latest daily close from Coinbase, refreshed in your browser when you open the page. Live prices move during the day, so an exchange quote can differ slightly.
Can I buy less than one coin?
Yes. Most coins can be bought in small fractions, so you can buy $10 of Bitcoin even though one bitcoin costs far more.
