How the profit is calculated

The buy fee comes out of the amount you invest, so you buy amount × (1 − fee) ÷ buy price coins. Selling them at the sell price gives the gross proceeds, and the sell fee comes out of that.

Profit is what you receive minus what you put in. The break-even price is the sell price at which you get back exactly what you invested, after both fees. It is always a little above your buy price when you pay fees.

Questions

How do I calculate crypto profit?

Divide the amount you invested by the buy price to get the number of coins, multiply by the sell price, then subtract fees and your original investment. This calculator does it for you and also shows the return as a percentage.

What is a break-even price?

The price your coin has to reach for you to get back what you put in, once trading fees are paid on both the buy and the sell. Selling above it is a profit; selling below it is a loss.

Does this include taxes?

No. Taxes on crypto gains depend on your country and how long you held. Use the profit shown here as the starting point for your own tax calculation.
